The dancers ride the dummy horses and move to the beats of drums, Bankiya and thali (round metal plate). Ghoomar is one the traditional folk dance of Rajasthan,India. More recently it has been performed by the very popular Deepika Padukone & Co., for the yet to be released movie ‘Padmavati’.
Thia dance is mainly performed by women with wearing flowing dress called ghagra while they are in the motion of describing a wide circle together.Ghoomar takes a special place for the people of the state and is mentioned with pride by Rajasthanis.No wonder it is a special attraction meant for occasions such as a grand wedding, a prominent festival, a social function etc.

The Kalbelia is a famous dance of rajasthan.Kalbelia community is the nomadic tribe of Rajasthan. In this community their occupation of trading snake venom and catching snake has given them with the title of Jogira, Sapera or Jogi.
In early days, the Kalbelia men used to carry cobras in cane baskets and move from door to door. Their women however, used to accompany them while dancing, singing and earning a livelihood from their beautiful performances. It was from there that the Kalbelia Dance came into picture.
Kalbelia Dance is usually performed to celebrate a happy occasion. However, special traditional dances are performed during Holi.
Folk songs and dance performances
This dance is not only a dance form but it is the matter of pride for them. The Kalbelia women enjoys their performance while men accompany them with musical instruments specially ‘Poongi”. The songs and dances form part of an oral tradition which is inherited by generations to generations.
The women of Kalbelia tribe, twist, sway and spin to the music played by their male partner. The moves made by them replicates that of the serpent.
The pace of the dance gradually increases with time and presents a sight to behold. While the women master in the art of dancing, the men play the musical instruments skillfully. A number of traditional instruments are played like dholak, khanjari, sarangi and most importantly the poongi or the ‘been’. The dance costume The Kalbelia dancers wear traditional dresses of their tribe when they are performing. The performers wear an Angrakhi on their upper body whose sleeves can either be half length or full length while their head is covered by an Odhani. They also wear a Lehenga or a Ghagra which has a wide circumference. The whole dress is essentially black in colour with red decorative laces. It also features a lot of colourful patters and designs along with mirror work that help the dancer attract the attention of the audience. The famous dance songs of Rajasthan Dance is a performing of art consisting of purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has its value, and is acknowledged as dance by performers and observers within a particular culture.Rajasthani dance is famous in everywhere.Everybody likes and enjoyed Rajasthani dance and songs.When Rajasthani songs are playing ,everybody starts dance.There are many Rajasthani songs.

1. Bhavai Dance
Bhavai is a genre of dance popular in Rajasthan state in western India. The male or female performers balance a number of earthen pots or brass pitchers as they dance nimbly, pirouetting and then swaying with the soles of their feet perched on the top of a glass, on the edge of the sword or on the rim of a brass thali (plate) during the performance.
2 .Rajasthani Chari Dance

The Kachi Ghodi Dance In Rajasthan India is performed on dummy horses. Men in elaborate costumes- red turbans and dhotis and kurtas ride the well-decorated dummy horses.
6.Rajasthani Ghoomar Dance
This spectacular folk dance derived its name from ‘ghoomna’. Fascination starts when colors of the flowing ‘Ghaghara’, the long skirt of the Rajasthani women flows during pirouetting. There is an amazing grace as the skirt flair slowly while the women twirl in circles, their faces covered with the help of the veil.
7.Terah Talli Dance
Thirteen Manjeeras (little brass disc) are attached to various parts of their body, which they hit with the ones they hold in their hand. This creates a beat on which the dancers move. The dancers balance pots on their hands and hold a weapon in their mouth, for making the performance more beautiful.
